Bitcoin Wallets Analysis
Bitcoin’s on-chain picture shows a nuanced trend over the last 48 hours. Total addresses climbed 0.01% to 1.55 billion on October 12. Zero balance addresses also ticked up 0.01%. Crucially, the count of addresses holding any Bitcoin remained flat at 541,163.
However, a deeper look reveals some accumulation among larger holders. Addresses with over 10 BTC saw a 0.06% increase, reaching 129,801. Even more striking, the number of wallets holding over 1,000 BTC rose 0.10% to 1,942, marking the strongest percentage gain across all balance tiers. This suggests significant buying momentum from whales.
Conversely, the cohort of addresses holding over 100 BTC dipped 0.05% to 18,338. This slight reduction in the ‘centurion’ class contrasts with the growth in the 10 BTC and 1,000 BTC groups. Mid-tier wallets holding over 1 BTC stayed flat at 820,785. The overall pattern points to selective accumulation at the very high end, while broader participation remains muted.

Conclusions About the Bitcoin Network
The recent two-day data paints a mixed but generally positive on-chain outlook. While total address growth is primarily driven by empty wallets, the significant uptick in addresses holding over 1,000 BTC, alongside a modest increase in the 10+ BTC cohort, signals sustained accumulation by large players. The flat count for addresses with any balance and the slight dip in the 100+ BTC group temper enthusiasm, but the whale activity suggests underlying buying pressure. We’re seeing targeted accumulation rather than broad market participation, which could provide a floor for price action.
